ABC goes dark after Biden town hall participant is discovered to be ex-Obama staffer, wife of top Dem

ABC News officials have remained silent after it was revealed that two of the participants in the network-hosted town hall for Joe Biden on Thursday were affiliated with the Democratic Party.

One of the two who asked the Democratic nominee questions during what critics have called a softball event for the former vice president was later identified as a speechwriter for former President Barack Obama, while the other is the wife of a top Pennsylvania Democrat.

Participant Nathan Osburn’s profession was listed as “communications” on a graphic displayed while he asked his question, while his home was listed as Philadelphia.

But Osburn worked for the Office of Public Affairs at the Commerce Department during the Obama-Biden administration, as well as the Small Business Association, Fox News reported.

A questioner that ABC identified as a physical therapist from State College, Pa. was Mieke Heack, the wife of Ezra Nunes, who ran in 2018 against Pennsylvania state Senate Republican Majority Leader Jake Corman.

Currently, Nunes is affiliated with the Centre County Democratic Committee as a member-at-large.

Nanes took to Twitter to praise his wife’s town hall appearance, which in turn gave away her identity.

“Our children and I are so proud of our @MiekeHaeck for her courage in asking this question of @JoeBiden and so grateful to our next President for his caring and decisive answer in support of transgender and all LGBTQ people,” he wrote.

To skate the issue, when pressed by Fox News the broadcast network referred to town hall moderator George Stephanopoulos’ opening statement to kick off the event.

“Some are voting for [Biden], some have said they’re voting for President Trump, some are still undecided, and we’re going to try to take questions from as many as we can tonight,” he said.

Also not lost on some critics — that fact that Stephanopoulos himself is a former Democratic operative, having worked the “war room” for the campaigns of Bill Clinton.

As for the town hall event itself, the moderator did not ask or entertain a single question from anyone else regarding bombshells published this week by the New York Post alleging that Joe Biden was not honest when he previously said he had nothing to do with his son Hunter Biden’s Ukraine business dealings.

An email the Post obtained from the hard drive of a laptop allegedly belonging to the younger Biden left at a repair shop in Delaware last year indicates that he introduced his father to a top official at Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company that would go on to hire Hunter as a highly-paid board member.

Regarding ABC, the network has either fabricated or misrepresented questioners are earlier town halls this election cycle.

In September, the Washington Free Beacon reported that at least two allegedly “uncommitted voters” had actually participated in prior left-wing activism and had criticized President Donald Trump during a town hall hosted for him.

One of them was Kutztown University professor Ellesia Blaque, who drilled the president over health care, expressed her desire to volunteer for Sen. Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign in a January 2019 tweet.

In other tweets, she alternately ripped the president as being “pathetic,” “a f—ing moron,” a “pig,” and a “swine.” Also, she clearly identifies as a “liberal Democrat” on Facebook.

The second person was Philadelphia pastor Carl Day, who wrote in a tweet last month he “never once supported trump and won’t now. What I will do is call them out of their foolery.”

Day pressured Trump on when the country had “been great for African-Americans in the ghetto of America” and if he was now aware of “how tone-deaf that comes off to African-American communities.”

That said, under the president’s pre-COVID economy, more blacks were employed than at any time in history. Also, Trump has signed legislation securing long-term additional funding for historically black colleges. He also signed the First Step Act, a criminal reform law that was supported by several black leaders.
